Our Research

The Oxford Thermofluids Institute is part of Oxford University’s strategic investment in the UK’s science base. At our facility, we research, test and engineer world leading solutions for jets and rockets. Our research has three strategic flagship themes: Gasturbine, Hypersonics and Energy/Environment.

The Institute houses the most sophisticated turbine and high-speed flow facilities in the UK. These facilities support development of systems at a high technology readiness level, and have wide impact, through deployment in industry, via both research partnerships and commercialisation.
