Steven graduated in civil engineering from the University of Queensland (Australia) with first class honours. Since graduating Steven has worked as a consultant engineer undertaking numerical studies of coastal and estuarine environments to help improve the environmental response to coastal developments and determine the impact of climate change. His work at Oxford focuses on improving the performance of short tidal turbine fences by providing array scale confinement to the tidal flows.
