Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Turbine Cooling

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Oxford Thermofluids Institute at the Department of Engineering Science, Osney Mead. The post is funded by Rolls-Royce and is fixed-term until 31 December 2019.

The project aims at developing numerical tools for accurate and effective preliminary design of turbine cooling configurations. You will be responsible for the development and validation of physical models based on scale-resolving simulations for turbine cooling devices, such as pedestal banks and turbulators.

You should possess (or be near completion of) a PhD/DPhil in computational fluid mechanics (with the possibility to underfil at Grade 6 (£28,660 - £34,189 p.a.) if candidate holds a relevant degree/Masters and is working on PhD/DPhil) together with relevant experience;
