We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Tidal Energy Research Group at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. The post is funded by the EPSRC and is initially fixed-term for 2 years with the possibility of extension.
The successful applicant will join a research programme designing, developing and testing novel tidal stream turbine systems. You will work with a team of eight fluid dynamicists to develop floating platform concepts to support multi-rotor tidal turbine arrays. This will include metocean condition analysis, static and dynamic analyses of platform concepts, simulation, design of experiments, development of physical platform models, and running test campaigns in local and at large external facilities.
You should possess a strong background in fluid mechanics and floating body dynamics. You should hold a relevant PhD (or be near completion) and have a strong publication history.
