We are seeking a full-time postdoctoral research assistant to join the Dynamic Optics and Photonics research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is fully funded by the EPSRC and is fixed-term for 24 months.
The role is to develop novel optical fibre sensors, using the group's world-leading femtosecond laser micro-fabrication technology, which incorporates adaptive-optics aberration correction. The role will require further enhancement of the laser fabrication system. It will also involve design, fabrication and characterisation of optical fibre sensors. There will be collaboration with industrial partners in the aerospace, space and energy sectors.
You should demonstrate the ability to work effectively and independently, but also possess good interpersonal skills. You should possess a PhD (or near completion), have excellent communication skills and a publication record commensurate with career stage.
