Ørsted CDT Departmental Lecturerin Geotechnical Engineering

 

Salary: Grade 8 £42,149 – £50,296 p.a.

 

 

We are seeking a full-time Departmental Lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering to join the Civil Engineering research group at the Department of Engineering Science (Central Oxford). The post is fixed term for 4 years from appointment and is part funded by Ørsted and the Centre for Doctoral Training in Renewable Energy Marine Structures (REMS CDT).

You will lecture and teach undergraduate and graduate students, including support for the geotechnical engineering CDT activity (e.g. for the REMS CDT), and contribute to the teaching, research, and academic administration of the Department. You will contribute to the PICASO research project in offshore geotechnical engineering funded by Ørsted, and you will lead independent geotechnical research, sponsored by research councils and/or industry.

You will possess a PhD in a relevant field and additional research experience. Good communication skills and an aptitude for teaching and awareness of pedagogic methods are essential. You should have extensive specialist knowledge in geotechnical engineering.
