Would you like to play a key role in supporting IT for a world-leading provider of Engineering teaching and research? Do you have a passion for great customer service, great communications skills and hands-on experience supporting users in a diverse IT environment? The Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford (central Oxford) is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated IT professional to join its IT Team.


Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for providing excellent support to academic, student and administrative users of IT through the Service Desk. You will be responsible for assessing, actioning and allocating user requests and incidents. You will provide first- and second-line user support and manage a case load of service incidents, all the while providing good communication, processes and excellent documentation.


A strong interest in Information Technology is vital, as is experience with Windows; however, experience with a variety of operating systems is desirable.  You will need strong interpersonal and communication skills with an aptitude for problem solving. Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team are also key.
