Heloise received her BSc in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Cape Town and MPhil in Inclusive Innovation from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town. She then joined the CHI Lab at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar in 2013, where she completed her MSc. After a MBA from the Said Business School at Oxford, she rejoined CHI Lab in 2016 to undertake her DPhil.
Heloise's work involves condition monitoring systems for handpumps in rural regions, along with the construction of tools for risk assessment of water insecurity. This work involves studies in Kenya and Bangladesh, and is funded by UNICEF.
