Biography

Dr. Saiful Khan is a researcher at the Oxford e-Research Centre currently working as a Research Software Engineer with Prof. Wes Armour in the area of data engineering (e.g., data processing, data modelling, and visualization) for Square Kilometre Array. He did his DPhil in Engineering Science supervised by Prof. Min Chen, funded by Laing O'Rourke. He has experience using data processing, data management, enterprise search, and information visualization techniques in a variety of projects, e.g., Innovate UK funded seismological data visualization & analysis projects and open-source security data management & search project. He has been the architect of the RAMP VIS server visualizing COVID-19 datasets hosted by SCRC. He worked as a Software Engineer at ABB, Oracle, International Seismological Centre, and as a Data Scientist and Lead Software Engineer at Horus Security Consultancy. His research and development expertise lies in the areas of data processing, data modelling, enterprise search, machine learning, and visual analytics.
