Biography
Xuelan Hou earned her M.Sc. degree in Industrial Catalysis from Tianjin University, China, in 2017 under the supervision of Prof. Yongdan Li, on a topic of ‘Photocatalytic overall water splitting and photoelectrochemical water oxidation reaction’; and her Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from Aalto University, Finland, in 2022 under the supervision of Prof. Peter D. Lund, worked on ‘Solar cells and solar driven green hydrogen production’.
After obtaining her Ph.D., she joined the Group led by Prof. James Kwan at the Department of Engineering Science and the Group of Prof. Edman Tsang at the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory as a Post-doc Research Assistant at the University of Oxford since December 2022, working on the research topic: Producing green hydrogen via sonocatalytic cracking of Ammonia. Besides, she is also interested in solar energy conversion and storage into solar fuels such as NH3, H2O2 and hydrocarbon.
