Hydrogen Embrittlement Lab

Hydrogen Embrittlement Lab

The Hydrogen Embrittlement Lab is a dedicated research facility for studying hydrogen–materials interactions, led by Prof Emilio Martínez-Pañeda and Dr Alfredo Zafra. Specialising in hydrogen permeation, hydrogen charging, thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS), and in situ mechanical testing (tensile, fracture and fatigue), we support universities and companies to quantify hydrogen transport, uptake and trapping, and understand hydrogen-assisted degradation in metallic materials for their research projects and product development.
