HBL members win prizes from i-CREATe and WRRC 2024

Members of HBL have been recognized with the Best Conference Paper Award in the 2024 International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology

Shuai Mao, D.Phil. student of HBL, has been recognized with the Best Conference Paper Award and Best Paper Award in Universal Design for his work "Design of a Self-Locking Component for McKibben Muscle Back-Stretchability".

From 22nd - 26th August, HBL members (Liang, Yixing, Shuai, and Zhongchao) attended the i-CREATe & WRRC 2024 conference held in Shanghai.

The conference aims to establish the first comprehensive global summit on rehabilitation robotics, focusing on advancing rehabilitation robotics technology and industry. This event has fostered innovative breakthroughs in neural rehabilitation and highlights the societal impact of such technologies. The conference brought together scholars from over 70 prestigious institutions, including Harvard, Oxford, Imperial College London, UC Berkeley, Columbia University, and ETH Zurich. 

HBL D.Phil. student, Shuai Mao's paper, entitled "Design of a Self-Locking Component for McKibben Muscle Back-Stretchability", won the Best Conference Paper Award and Best Paper Award in Universal Design.

Zhongchao, Yixing, and Shuai Mao also participated in the Global Student Innovation Challenge Competition with their project "PneumGo: The Intelligent Modular Pneumatic Control System for soft-robot Rehabilitation", which was recognized with the Good Project Award.
