Dr Martin Juckes

Martin is a Visiting Fellow at the Physics Department. His background is in mathematics and atmospheric dynamics, followed by 20 years working at the Science and Technology Facilities Council with the British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC) and as Deputy Head of of the Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA). He led a major study on the challenges of achieving net zero in UKRI digital research infrastructure.

His current work is focused on two main strands. Firstly, making climate data accessible through broadened participation in the strategic planning process, working with international partners to formulate data requirements for the next phase of globally coordinated climate simulations. Secondly, Using the NetDRIVE project to inform and galvanise change in UKRI's research culture: how do we work sustainably while maintaining a focus on academic excellence?

Professor Sarah Sparrow

Sarah Sparrow is experienced in data driven coupling of climate model output to impact models and lead research proposals in this area. Her responsibilities include application development, support and data management.

Sarah has extensive experience in preparing and analysing large ensembles of climate model output. She has tutored at several international attribution workshops and summer schools. Her research has also included analysis of atmospheric dynamics having modelled solar climate influences on tropospheric dynamics and studied modes of stratospheric variability.

Sarah is Deputy Course Director for the MSc in Energy Systems, and is climateprediction.net Programme Coordinator at Oxford e-Research Centre.
