Membrane separations are being used increasingly in a wide range of industrial processes from conventional chemical processing to healthcare, pharmaceutical, and environmental applications. With the recent rapid developments in novel materials and nanotechnology, and the ever-growing call to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability in the chemical and process industries, novel membranes and processes are being developed for these challenging new applications. The membrane science and technology group explore these new frontiers, based on the application of chemical engineering science and technology transfer, in collaboration with top scientists and institutions worldwide.
