We research quantum behaviour in nanoscale devices. The manipulation of nanoscale devices in the quantum regime has gone from proof-of-principle experiments to being the building block of a new generation of quantum technologies...it is an exciting time for quantum research!

Philanthropists

We have benefited enormously from the support of Sir Martin Wood FRS and Lady Audrey Wood, the founders of OI, who have sadly passed away. Their timely donation led to greatly improved nanofabrication facilities at Oxford. Our research continues to rely heavily on an electron beam lithography system which they helped to establish.

Vital pump-priming for our low-temperature activities came from a major donation from the Ferreras Willetts family, who have continued to support us generously. We are proud to acknowledge this involvement by naming our laboratories the Ferreras Willetts Laboratories.
