AI in Healthcare: A CHI Lab Conference and PPI Day

On 23rd - 25th February 2026, the CHI Lab hosted the AI in Healthcare event in the grounds of the stunning Worcester College. Attended by many of our collaborators from Oxford and beyond, the event began with two days of talks around the theme of AI, digital tools and their role in healthcare. The event was kicked off with a keynote from Prof Sir Aziz Sheikh Head of the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (NDPCHS), and heard talks from a range of speakers from healthcare, research and beyond. Gavin Hubbard (Senior Communications Manager, NDPCHS) has written a blog post summarising the event which can be read here: The algorithm works. Now what? Reflections from Oxford's AI in Healthcare event

On the third day of the event we welcomed ~20 members of the public to hear about how AI and digital technologies are influencing healthcare today and how they might change things in the future. Artist Calum Heath from Scriberia was on hand to create a visual summary of the day which can be seen below. You can download a high-res version of the artwork here: PPI Day Visual Summary

Following some wonderful positive feedback we look forward to hosting similar events in the future.
