AI tools in Primary Care Research: Hands-On workshop

On Thursday, 25 September 2025, CHI Lab researchers worked together with the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (NDPCHS), and delivered a lively, hands-on workshop “AI Tools for Primary Care Research”. It was led by Dr Lei Clifton (Programme Director, MSc in Applied Digital Health, NDPCHS), Dr Bradley Segal (Rhodes Scholar, and DPhil candidate at the CHI Lab, Department of Engineering Science), and Gavin Hubbard (Senior Communications Manager with extensive AI experience, NDPCHS). Together, they delivered live demonstrations and practical guidance on how AI tools can be used to:
- Reduce administrative workload
- Accelerate literature reviews and summarisation
- Improve academic writing and editing
- Support hypothesis generation and peer review preparation.
Following the success of this workshop, the team will organise follow-up workshops on how to incorporate advanced AI and machine learning techniques in research.
