Cryogenic Fluid Dynamics Lab

Area of interest of the group

About Us

Welcome to the Cryogenic Fluid Dynamics Lab. We are part of the Thermal Propulsion Systems Group at the Engineering Science Department and we focus on investigating fluid dynamic phenomena taking place at ultra-low temperatures (from 120K to 0K (absolute zero)). Cryogenic fluid dynamics are the backbone of technologies relating to energy, heat management, propulsion, space exploration and even bioengineering.

Within the lab we perform research on complex multiphase flows, supercritical regimes heat transferer, turbulence and fluid interactions with surfaces. Our research is currently funded by EPSRC, Industries and University seed funding.
