AI4DH in 2025 IBME Open Day

On Thursday 13th March 2025, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME) welcomed 67 secondary school students from 21 schools across England to its annual Open Day. The AI4DH Lab participated in the event, delivering a lecture on AI methods in healthcare and presenting hands-on demonstrations to illustrate their practical applications.

By engaging directly with young visitors, the AI4DH Lab shared insights into how their research tackles pressing healthcare challenges. The event emphasised the group’s commitment to inspiring STEM careers and fostering societal impact through public engagement

DPhil Students Demonstrate AI4DH Projects at IBME Open Day

Doctoral students Katarina Vukosavljevic and Mingcheng Zhu helped deliver this year’s Open Day demonstrations in AI for healthcare. Pupils explored a clustering method to classify pneumonia cases and a multi-agent system designed to improve accessibility for patients with disabilities. The interactive displays aimed to illustrate how such tools could support practical, equitable healthcare solutions.
