Knowledge Exchange with Oxford University Clinical Research Unit

On 11 September 2025, our group held a knowledge exchange session with colleagues from the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) in Vietnam. Prof. Louise Thwaites and Dr. Hai Ho Bich presented their work on developing an integrated healthcare system, highlighting their efforts in collecting electronic health records (EHR) and bio-signals across different hospital wards to support clinical research and patient care.

In turn, our group introduced our research, including survival analysis using multi-modal clinical data, uncertainty and multimorbidity analysis with deep learning, and a novel data processing approach for unified EHR representation. The session provided a valuable opportunity for detailed discussion and the sharing of complementary expertise.

We learned a great deal from this exchange, particularly about the practical challenges and solutions in large-scale healthcare system development in Vietnam. The event strengthened our international ties and set the stage for future collaborations in healthcare data science.
