Knowledge Exchange with HKU

On 3 July 2025, our group hosted Professor Zhang from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) for another successful round of knowledge exchange. Prof. Zhang presented the diverse research directions pursued by his group, highlighting a balanced focus on immunology and machine learning applications in healthcare, alongside notable contributions to public health. His presentation shared insightful reflections on his team's transition from engineering to medical research, emphasising the value of seeking new, impactful problems.

Following Prof. Zhang’s presentation, each member of our group delivered a concise overview of their current research projects. This interactive session provided an excellent platform for detailed discussions, allowing our members to share their findings and methodologies directly with HKU students who expressed interest in specific topics.

The event not only deepened our mutual understanding of the unique research environments and opportunities at both institutions but also reinforced the importance of collaborative learning and exploration beyond traditional comfort zones. The meeting successfully fostered meaningful academic connections, laying a solid foundation for future joint initiatives in healthcare innovation and artificial intelligence.
