Mechanical

The human heart can begin to show subtle changes in function before any obvious symptoms or clinical signs of disease appear. Conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, amyloidosis, and myocardial infarction can affect cardiac motion in complex ways that are not easily detected through conventional methods. Our research leverages techniques including geometric deep learning and time series analysis to uncover motion patterns in the heart and investigate how these patterns differ in individuals with early or established disease.
