VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BRAIN STUDY
We are interested in investigating brain health using imaging and physiological methods.
We are looking for healthy volunteers, above 18 years of age, who are not pregnant.
If you take part, you will be asked questions about your medical history to check your suitability for an MRI scan and you will be required to provide a saliva sample (to see which form of specific genes you have).
Based on the results from the saliva sample, we will select some participants to come to the University of Oxford (Old Road Campus, Headington), for an in-person session (approximately 2 hours). Depending on the outcome of this session, you may come back for a second session (also 2 hours). Participants will be compensated for these in-person sessions.
In the in-person sessions, we will collect the following:
- Questionnaire and cognitive tests
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans, which are safe and non-invasive, in combination with breathing tasks.
- Other physiological testing (pupil reaction to light using video camera, doppler ultrasound scan and near infrared spectroscopy, all safe and non-invasive methods)
Interested? Please contact eyebrainstudy@eng.ox.ac.uk for further information without any obligation. Thank you!
