Markella graduated from the National Technical University of Athens with an integrated master in Mechanical Engineering, in 2018. She worked as a research associate in academia for a year. Past internships include working at a thermal power plant and in industrial hydroturbine R&D. She joined the research group in Michaelmas Term 2019 is currently pursuing a DPhil in Wind Turbine Wake Analysis and Modelling, funded by the CDT in Wind and Marine Energy Systems and Structures and E.On.
Markella will focus her research on offshore wind turbine wake effects analysis and modelling. Previous research topics include turbomachinery blade geometry modelling and optimization.
