Matthew Chun

It's CHI Lab's great pleasure to announce its newest graduate, Dr. Matthew Chun, who recently passed his thesis viva with "no corrections" - a highly unusual outcome that testifies to the rigour and excellence of Matt's work.  His research developed machine learning methods for predicting stroke risk, working with epidemiologists from the Nuffield Department of Population Health.  The work focused on the China Kadoorie Biobank, a huge cohort study of half-a-million Chinese participants, studied for over ten years, and where his work produced a sizeable contribution to the literature in stroke prediction, and in ML for epidemiology.

Congratulations, Dr. Chun!
