Oxford Tidal Energy Workshops

 

The Tidal Energy Research Group has been pleased to host seven workshops on tidal energy with the generous support of the Oxford Martin School Programme on Globalising Tidal Energy and more recently the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). These two day workshops have provided opportunities for scientists, engineers, and researchers to discuss technical issues in tidal stream power generation. Topics have included:

  • Device-scale problems (hydrodynamics, design, fluid-structure interactions, etc)
  • Array-scale problems (wake interaction, array optimisation, etc)
  • Basin-scale problems (resource assessment, environmental impact, etc)
  • Novel experimental, computational, and theoretical approaches for tidal energy
