Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Gas Turbine Deposition

Standard Grade 7: £34,308 - £42,155 per annum

Description

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Particulate research group at the Department of Engineering Science (Oxford Thermofluids Institute, Oxford).  This is a full-time post, fixed-term of one year.

 

The project will include, but not limited to, the commissioning and undertaking of experiments and development of numerical tools for particulate deposition in gas turbine flows. There is also an opportunity to also be involved in work for high temperature accretion for sand and dust and also low temperature ice crystal icing. The appointee will be able to work closely with research students.

 

You should possess a doctorate in a relevant field or be near completion with experience in experiments and simulations of particulate transport and deposition. You should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work on a collaborative project. Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate scientific ideas to an expert audience are also required.
