Description
We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Dynamic Robot Systems Group, part of the Oxford Robotics Institute and the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. The post is funded by United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI) and is for 24 months.The researcher will develop 3D mapping and reconstruction algorithms with relevance to mobile robotics. At present there is specific interest in advanced 3D perception techniques such as geometric foundation models, implicit neural rendering (NeRF, Gaussian Splatting) as well as semantic mapping. Our research team also has experience with multi-sensor systems including lidar, inertial sensing within the context of real-time SLAM and autonomous exploration. The researcher will have the opportunity to establish collaborative links thorough our collaborative network.
The researcher should have a PhD/DPhil (or be near completion) in robotics, computer vision, machine learning or a closely related field. You have an excellent academic track record in topics relevant to robot perception. A specific focus on visual inertial odometry (VIO), mapping (SLAM) and 3D reconstruction is desirable.
