Description
The Monroe group at the Oxford University Department of Engineering Science seeks a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate. This post is funded by the Faraday Institution Multiscale Modelling Project and has a fixed term, ending March 31, 2027.This project focusses on the experimental characterization of cosolvent lithium-ion electrolytes, to refine their descriptions in physics-based models of lithium-ion batteries. You will design, implement, and analyze experiments to establish properties such as thermodynamic factors, conductivity, diffusivity, and transference numbers. Work will begin with composition-dependent property determination for the EMC:EC:LiPF6 system, including the ultraconcentrated salt regime.
You should possess or have nearly completed a PhD in a relevant discipline. Experience with electrochemical experiments (in inert atmospheres) and rheology, particularly with Li-ion battery materials, is desirable. You will gather and publish high-quality data, exhibit leadership within the group, present at conferences, and engage with the broader community.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Charles Monroe (charles.monroe@eng.ox.ac.uk)
