Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Thermal Propulsion Systems (Experimental)

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Thermal Propulsion Systems (Experimental) to join the Thermal Propulsion Systems research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by the EPSRC and is fixed-term to 31 December 2022 (with a possible 2 year extension subject to progress and performance).

The position serves the Oxford and JLR led “Centre of Excellence for Hybrid Thermal Propulsion Systems” which aims to establish Jaguar Land Rover, UK industry, and UK academia as the world leaders in hybrid thermal propulsion system science and technology. You will responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of a major programme of single-cylinder engine experiments. It is expected that the successful candidate will be an experienced researcher with an established track record in the field.

You should possess a relevant PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in engineering, computational sciences, physical sciences, or mathematics, together with sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes.
