We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Prosthetic Technology to join the Natural Interaction Lab (NIL) at the Department of Engineering Science. The post is funded by Research England and is fixed-term until 31 July 2020. There is an option of extension.
The Postdoctoral Research Assistant is responsible for the research and development of an affordable, child-friendly body-powered prosthetic that allows more freedom of movement and that can be easily manufactured. This includes, but is not limited to simulation, mechanical testing and experimental verification.
To achieve our ambitious goals, you will work with a team of stakeholders creating a fully functional and user centric technology. You will be responsible for some of the technical management of the technology development.
You should hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or near completion) together with relevant experience, possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline and be able to manage your own academic research and associated activities.
