We are seeking a full-time Research Software Engineer Associate to join the Scientific Computing research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by EPSRC and is fixed-term for 12 months.

The main responsibility of the postholder will be to work closely with Dr Ian Bush to research and develop distributed memory computational solutions in a number of applications, mainly in the computational chemistry and magnetohydrodynamics areas. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to research and design these solutions in collaboration with the other developers of the codes. The postholder will be expected to implement the design correctly and efficiently, to document and publish their work in an appropriate manner, and to be an active and engaged member of the wider OeRC scientific computing group. .

You should possess, or be close to completion of, a PhD or DPhil, have good communication skills and a knowledge of modern software development techniques using compiled, high level languages.
