We are seeking a full-time permanent Senior Engineer at the Oxford Robotics Institute and the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford.
The Senior ORI Engineer will be responsible for the development and continuing management of the Oxford Robotic Institute’s engineering operations. The ORI Senior Engineer will be responsible for delivery of robotics excellence across software and hardware, feeding into the ORI’s research agenda, field trials, industrial engagement and to a lesser extent, the undergraduate teaching program.
This is a diverse role that requires working with the managers of existing teams across different disciplines and across different research agendas. It requires great people management skills and great engineering skills. It requires delegation while taking responsibility and a love of making things work.
You should hold a relevant degree in engineering or computer science. You should have expertise in engineering involving the coupling or embedding of large software projects to hardware. You should have experience managing a team and leading them with evidence of good judgement and reliability.
