Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Orthopaedic Clinical Tooling

We are seeking a Research Assistant for a 6-month full-time project to support and manage clinical trial of a new surgical tool. The appointee will join the Mechanics of Materials Group in the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford (Central Oxford).  The post is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) through the University’s Impact Acceleration Account, and is for 6 months full time; flexible working will be considered. 


You should possess a PhD/DPhil in a related field but this is not essential. This recruitment comes with the possibility to underfill at Grade 6 (£29,176 - £34,804 p.a.) if candidate holds a relevant degree/Masters and is working on PhD/DPhil) You will be expected to work closely with a team including academics, surgeons, business innovation experts and regulatory consultants. You should have experience of report writing, presentation, and project management. Experience in entrepreneurship or clinical trials will be an advantage, but not essential as training may be offered.  As a 6-month post, the position is an opportunity for a skilled applicant to gain experience in bio-medical engineering and entrepreneurship, as a stepping stone to a future career.
