We are seeking a full-time Senior Research Manager to work primarily with Professor Phil Torr in the Computer Vision group at the Department of Engineering Science. The role is full-time (although 30 hours a week would be considered) and is based in Central Oxford. The post is fixed-term for three years.
As Senior Research Manager you will assume responsibility for the administration of a variety of projects, which includes EPSRC, European Research Council and industry funded projects. You will be expected to advise senior academics on a wide variety of matters relating to the different functions of the role. You will need to develop strong relationships with external funding partners; understand financial flows within a University setting; navigate governance issues, advise the team on intellectual property management and conflicts of interest, and understand research funding arrangements. Your responsibilities will include the financial management of the projects and you will support Prof Torr in producing operational and financial reports on a regular basis for the funder.
You should be educated to degree level with experience of administration or project management in a research organisation. Proven experience of working independently and being proactive are essential, as well as aptitude for financial management.
