We are looking for a full-time IT Infrastructure Manager to join the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford.


As a member of the leadership team of the Department’s IT Team, you will be responsible for the successful development and operation of the fundamental IT infrastructure upon which the Department and its academic activities depends. As well as managing and supporting a team of networking and systems administration specialists you will frequently be working “hands-on” with technology, in particular around the wired and wireless networks, as you help deliver an IT infrastructure befitting a Department which is working at the cutting edge of technology.


The post will involve managing quite a lot of change and line management of a team of network specialists and system administrators.  Inspiring, motivating, and leading this team will be vital to its success.


Ideally you will have strong “hands-on” network and server administration skills in complex environments. Your ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with different audiences is a must. You should be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or with equivalent experience and analytical skills.
