Description
We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Quantum Engineering research group at the Department of Engineering Science and the Photonic Nanomaterials group at the Department of Materials (central Oxford). The post is funded by the EPSRC QCS Hub and is fixed-term to September 30, 2024.
This project aims to develop high efficiency coherent photon extraction from a single group IV diamond colour center in a microcavity. You will be responsible for combining nanofabrication of micro-optical and diamond-based devices, low-temperature optical spectroscopy, and quantum optics protocols to the design and benchmarking of a high-efficiency quantum optical device.
You should possess a PhD/DPhil (or be closed to completion) in a discipline cognate to the project, and you should have extensive experience with experimental quantum optics and/or optical spectroscopy in the solid-state.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Prof Dorian Gangloff (email: dorian.gangloff@eng.ox.ac.uk) or Prof Jason Smith (email: jason.smith@materials.ox.ac.uk)
