Description

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Soft Matter Photonics and Dynamic Optics and Photonics research groups at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford).  The post is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and is fixed-term until 30th September 2025 with possible further extension subject to confirmed additional funding.

This project involves the development of a new technology that would enable the adaptive control of spatio-temporal coherence characteristics of a light source. You will be responsible for the development of the underpinning technology, which will include the simulation, design, and characterisation methods, as well as optimisation of the devices. You will demonstrate adaptive optics coherence control in a range of applications, including displays, biomedical optics, and laser manufacturing.

You should possess a PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in Optoelectronic Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, together with significant experience of applied optics and imaging.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Prof Stephen Morris (email: stephen.morris@eng.ox.ac.uk)
