Description

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Neural Processing Lab (PNPL) at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford.  The post is funded by the UK Medical Research Council and is fixed-term for two years (with the possibility of renewal) from a start date in summer or autumn (e.g. September) 2024.

 

PNPL is looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher in Neural Engineering carry out novel research on the neurobiology of inner speech. You will be an expert in the field of electrophysiology (encompassing both MEG and EEG) – able to design and run experiments, as well as to independently analyse electrophysiological data using advanced methods such as independent component analysis (ICA) and source reconstruction. Among other things, the successful candidate will lead a project on the minimal sensor configuration needed to decode inner speech in MEG and EEG.

 

You should possess A PhD in neuroscience, experimental psychology, or closely related field, either completed or “near completed” before starting. You should also hold sufficient specialist knowledge in electrophysiology (MEG and EEG) to produce high-quality research and advance the group’s research vision.
