UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships - round 11
UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships - round 11
Oxford Department of Engineering Science EOI Deadline: 15 December 2025
Overview
The FLF scheme provides long-term support to enable exceptional early-career researchers and innovators to establish independence through ambitious, long-term programmes. The fellowship provides up to 4 years’ funding with a possible 3-year extension (4 + 3 model), covering salary, research expenses, and staff costs.
Further information is available on the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship webpage. The 2026 (Round 11) has not yet been announced.
Departmental Process
To apply, you will need to find a suitable permanent member of faculty (an academic with Associate Professor status or above) to act as your host academic first and contact them to confirm whether they will support your application. Please see our list of academics.
We cannot process applications that do not have the support of a permanent faculty member. When you have confirmed support from a host academic, you should ask your host academic to contact the Research Office on your behalf with a copy of your narrative CV (R4RI) and regular CV as soon as possible and no later than Monday 15 December 2025. The narrative CV (R4RI) template is available at Résumé for Research and Innovation and further guidance is available at Developing a narrative CV.
Please be aware that there are a number of internal sifts for this call, which is why the internal processes begin well in advance of the funder deadline:
- Engineering Science Departmental sift (expected deadline: January)
- MPLS Divisional sift (expected deadline: February)
- Cross-Divisional sift to select the Oxford applicants who will submit to UKRI (expected deadline: June)
Further deadline dates will be announced in due course once UKRI make public their pre-announcement.
