Faraday Discovery Fellowships

Royal Society Faraday Discovery Fellowships

Invitation to external applicants to apply

The Faraday Discovery Fellowship programme supports mid-career researchers who are acknowledged leaders in their fields with 10-20 years of post-PhD experience.

The Royal Society funding initiative is designed to provide the time and freedom to focus on research, offering long-term, stable funding that will empower recipients to tackle difficult and intractable problems.

Applicants can apply for up to a maximum of £8 million over ten years.

The Department of Engineering Science is keen to support applications to the Royal Society Faraday Discovery Fellowships scheme from both internal and external candidates.

We invite interested external applicants to send a CV* and a two-page summary covering their proposed research, how this enhances existing research within the department, and how this will enhance the applicants’ career, to research@eng.ox.ac.uk by 21 August 2024.

The Department is particularly keen to support applications from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in positions of this type at Oxford. The Department is also keen to attract outstanding applicants to the UK.
