Description

We are seeking up to two full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistants (PDRA) to join the special structures group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The posts are funded by BICI (Beijing Institute of Collaborative Innovation) and are fixed-term for 2 years.


The project is to develop two minimally invasive medical devices to address critical clinical needs unmet by current devices, identified by clinicians through extensive trials. The appointees will be involved in generating patentable concepts, taking the concept through manufacturing, assembling, and in-vitro testing stages and proving the efficacy of the devices and operational convenience. You are expected to be able to carry out independent research under the supervision of the project PI and co-PIs.


You should possess a doctorate, or be near completion of doctorate in structural engineering, mechanical engineering, material sciences, engineering mechanics or any other relevant subjects, and have good knowledge of structures, mechanics and mechanisms. You should have excellent communication and experimental skills.
