Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Real-Time Mapping

Grade 7: £33,309 - £40,927 per annum

Description

  We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Dynamic Robot Systems Group, part of the Oxford Robotics Institute and the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford (Central Oxford).  The post is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and is fixed term to the 31st March 2022. 

 

You will carry out fundamental research in multi-sensor navigation, localisation and reconstruction with application to field robots. In particular we are interested in developing long-term and scalable 3D mapping systems

 

You should hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or near completion). You should have an excellent academic track record in topics relevant to visual navigation, mapping or SLAM, localization, sensor fusion, path and motion planning or related areas. Ideally you should have experience working with real robots and have experience working in a team.
