Description
A skilled and highly motivated Software Engineer is required to join the Visual Geometry Group (VGG) at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. The position is fixed term for 2 years in the first instance due to external funding, with the possibility of a further extension.
We need robust, well maintained, well documented, well tested, well managed and ambitious software development. You will collaborate with an internationally-leading team of researchers in computer vision and machine learning, working on cutting edge technology such as deep learning. Your chief responsibility will be to design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning software and develop and assist in the design of our research software infrastructure. You will be required to maintain existing online web demos and other web presence of the group as well as write and update software in C++, Python, MATLAB, HTML/CSS/Javascript.
You should have a degree in engineering, computer science, physics or related subjects. In addition you should have experience in C++, at least one high-level scientific language such as Python; and experience in web development using HTML/CSS/Javascript. You should also have experience in implementing advanced image processing, computer vision, or machine learning algorithms and systems, as well as experience in designing, testing and maintaining complex software products, including the design of application interfaces and of the structure of software.
