Salary
Standard Grade 7: £36,024 – £44,263 per annum. A less experienced candidate may be appointed at Grade 6 (£32,332 – £38,205 per annum), with a commensurate adjustment in either the essential criteria, responsibilities or duties.

Description
We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Computing Infrastructure research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by UKRI EPSRC and is fixed-term for 24 months.
You will be contributing to joint UKRI EPSRC – NSF CBET project on sustainable computer networks, with a focus on carbon emissions reduction and network telemetry. You will contribute to the development of a framework that reduces the carbon emissions of networks through the use of carbon-aware network telemetry, and the implementation of new hardware support mechanisms. Your role will include the design, implementation and evaluation of different parts in the system, and the integration with other partners in the project.
You should possess a PhD/DPhil in Engineering, Computer Science or other related field, (with the possibility to underfill at Grade 6 (£28,098 - £33,518 p.a.) if candidate holds a relevant degree and is working towards completing PhD/DPhil) together with established knowledge in wired computer networks, significant coding experience (e.g., P4, Python), and a record of working in a Linux environment and related scripting languages.
