Description

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Poromechanics Lab, led by Prof. Chris MacMinn, in the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is part of the major ERC Starting Grant project DEFTPORE: “Deformation Control on Flow and Transport in Soft Porous Media”, and is for a fixed term of three months.

The aim of the project is to combine high-resolution experiments with theoretical modelling to revolutionize our fundamental understanding of, and predictive modelling capabilities for, the coupling of flow, transport, and deformation in soft porous media. You will be responsible for the development and execution of experiments as part of a collaborative team.

You should possess a PhD/DPhil (or be near completion with thesis submitted) in engineering or a related discipline and have a strong background in flow through porous media, solute transport, and poroelasticity.
