Standard Grade 7: £36,024 - £44,263 per annum

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Kwan Research Group at the Department of Engineering Science at the Begbroke Science Park and Professor Edman Tsang in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory.  The post is funded by the EPSRC and is fixed-term until May 31st 2025 with the possibility for extension.


The EPSRC funded us to explore the sonocatalytic cracking of ammonia to form hydrogen gas. You will be responsible for the synthesis, chemical analysis, and characterisation of catalysts for the sonocatalytic cracking of ammonia. Furthermore, you will be expected to conduct the sonochemical experiments.


You will hold a relevant PhD/Dphil, (or near completion*) together with relevant experience and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. You will have the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities and have previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings are also required.
