Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Bioreactor Modelling

Description

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to join the Environmental and Biological Systems Engineering research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford).  The post is funded by BBSRC and is fixed-term for 18 months, expected to start on the 1 of November, 2024.

 

You will be joining a team to carry out both experimental and mathematical modelling research to develop a novel bioreactor for sustainable cultured meat production. You will be responsible for developing mathematical models to inform experimental exploration and scale-up analysis.  

 

You should possess a PhD (or close to completion) in (bio-)chemical engineering, bioengineering or another related field, with extensive experience in the mathematical modelling of biological processes that covers at least some of the following aspects: metabolic networks, regulatory networks, communities, mammalian cells, and mass transfer.
