Salary

Standard Grade 6: £32,332 - £38,205 per annum, with a discretionary range up to £41,732 per annum, and the possibility of a market pay supplement.

Description

We are seeking a full-time Installation and Maintenance Electrician to join the Oxford Thermofluids Institute at the Department of Engineering Science (Osney Mead, Oxford).  This is a permanent post.

 

The OTI houses some of the most advanced high-speed flow and turbine facilities in the UK. The Installation and Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for the electrical installation work within the OTI along with both the planned and reactive electrical maintenance work. You will also be responsible for the repair of office and laboratory electrical distribution systems and equipment related to both to infrastructure and research at the OTI and proximate related buildings. The OTI houses high power facilities along with more standard single-phase equipment. The postholder will advise on electrical installation work, including electrical safety and will be expected to keep abreast of the University’s electrical regulations/philosophy documents and ensure all work within the OTI is conformal.

 

You should possess a relevant formal qualification in an appropriate subject (e.g. electrical engineering) and have several years of post-training electrical experience. You should also have an 18th Edition certificate in IET Wiring Regulation for Electrical Installation.
