About The Role
We are seeking to appoint an Institute Administrator, who will play a leadership role in the management of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME), Department of Engineering Science. The Administrator will take responsibility for operational, administrative, financial and practical aspects of the IBME, and helping forge and support its strategic objectives. The aims of the Institute are to provide a world-leading environment and facilities for cross-disciplinary biomedical engineering research, and to promote collaborations between engineers, clinicians and biomedical scientists that result in translatable innovations in diagnosis and therapy.
The Administrator is required to be proactive and innovative in ensuring the sustainability and growth of the Institute, and to anticipate and manage the effect of changes within the Institute and across the University, by developing and implementing strategic and operational priorities. This position is offered full-time on a permanent basis, with the expectation to work on site most of the week.
About You
You should be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, with evidence of strong intellectual, analytical and numerical skills. Experience of working at a strategic level in a complex environment is essential, as well as demonstrable problem-solving skills combined with the ability to generate practical and effective solutions. You should also have experience of resource management, including budgeting and planning in a complex financial environment, as well as a strong understanding of financial and HR IT systems, including experience using such systems, ideally Oracle Financials and CORE, and strong Excel skills.
